ONLINE and EXTRAS
The BBC is hailing this as the first truly 24/7 World Cup promising a host of features on its dedicated website and on demand including all the goals and interactive elements. Mark Chapman will also host a daily breakfast highlights show on BBC Two from 7.30am each day which will also be available on demand via the red button and I-Player. Dan Walker will also have ten editions of Football Focus.

FOOTIE ON TV VERDICT: The BBC has certainly boosted it squad for the World Cup with notable signings Rio Ferdinand, Thierry Henry and Clarence Seedorf.
It's also the last chance to see Alan Hansen in action, the World Cup being his last outing for the BBC before retiring from punditry.
While the BBC came in for much criticism for its Euro 2012 coverage (and also at times for its regular Premier League Match of the Days over the past few seasons) viewing figures suggest its coverage is still very popular while Gary Lineker continues to be an extremely polished host.
Expect a huge online service as well to back up the TV coverage.

Regular highlights shows and games shown by ITV on ITV and ITV4 will also be streamed live on ITV Player where they will also be available on demand.
Meanwhile, ITV's dedicated World Cup website (itv.com/worldcup) will include highlights packages of all 64 games, in-match video clips and extra video footage from ITV's pundits. There'll also be a podcast too.

FOOTIE ON TV VERDICT: ITV Sport is sometimes harshly criticised for its football coverage. You either love or hate main host Adrian Chiles - there's not really many people who sit in the middle with him.
Despite the hostility to ITV's coverage at times, their Euro 2012 coverage won critical acclaim as trumping the BBC's.
In Gabriel Clarke they have a reporter who is not afraid to ask difficult questions of managers and players (something often missing in TV football coverage) while their studio punditry team looks strong and full of opinions - although they certainly miss their star turn, Roy Keane, who's had to pull out as he looks to return to football coaching full-time.
Expect ITV to have a strong finals but when it comes to the big head-to-head between the two broadcasters for the final, ratings-wise the BBC will win out - the nation is auto-programmed to tune to the BBC for big events.
