Paul Scholes joins BT Sport



BT Sport has confirmed the former Manchester United and England player Paul Scholes is to join its team of pundits for its live Premier League coverage this season.

Scholes has struck a four-year deal with the broadcaster, which has the rights for 38 live games from England's top-flight, and will also work on the channel's Champions League coverage from the 2015-16 season when BT takes over coverage from Sky and ITV.

The 39-year-old will also appear on ITV in the new season on their Champions League coverage as the channel covers its last season of the competition.

BT executive producer Grant Best said: "Paul has proved himself to be a forthright and astute pundit since he hung up his boots.

"His recent opinions have been every bit as tenacious as his tackling on the pitch. It is fantastic we have been able to sign up a legend like Paul to offer a unique insight, based on a record of consistent success at the highest level."
