EFL promise improvements for announcing Sky live picks

The re-branded English Football League has promised to make improvements in the way live TV games are announced.

Changes to the fixture list to suit Sky Sports' live TV picks have drawn criticism from some fans with Leeds United even refusing to let the Sky team into Elland Road in protest at so many changes before later relenting.

But the newly-named EFL say they will publish a list of dates this season when the TV changes will be announced.

The opening weekend Sky games will be confirmed when the fixtures are released on Wednesday (June 22).

The following weekend's live TV games will then be revealed "in the following days".

EFL competitions manager Paul Snellgrove said: "We have looked to make improvements for the announcement process this year and the EFL will be announcing the release dates for live selections throughout the season in due course."
