IN: Murray new Football on 5 host |
Murray will take over the job of 5's Saturday night highlights show from August 5 when the programme returns for the new season.
"Football of 5 is going to be more about the action and the fans than ever before, focusing on what matters...goals on the pitch and community off it. It'll be great to be a small part of that," Murray said of his appointment.
Sunset + Vine will continue to produce the show for Channel 5, but are promising a refresh of the format for the new season. It will continue to be shown in a primetime 9pm slot.
Riley - who has been with the show since it launched two years ago - tweeted saying he wished Murray well in the role, adding: "Hope you have as much fun as we had working on this show."
