BT Sport extends National League live TV deal

BT Sport will continue to show action from non-league's top-flight until at least 2021 after extending its exclusive deal to screen live games.

The broadcaster currently shows up to 30 games a season (including play-off matches) from the Vanarama-sponsored National League, but the new deal will see even more matches shown live.

The new agreement means from the start of the 2018-19 season BT will typically screen one game from each matchday. This will mainly be in a new regular Saturday slot as well as midweek games.

BT will also continue to show a weekly highlights programme (which is also shared through YouTube) as part of an arrangement where students are givien broadcast training to film the National League's games.

The League said it was pleased to renew the deal for a further three years after "fully testing the marketplace".

BT said it was proud of its support for non-league football and looked forward to continuing its coverage.

No details of how much the deal is worth have been revealed.
