The tech giant will show the games as part of its Amazon Prime service which combines on-demand and live TV streaming with other Amazon services such as next-day delivery for goods purchased through the company.
As part of a three-year deal, Amazon will be able to show every game LIVE from the first December midweek round of Premier League games and the Boxing Day fixtures.
It's thought some games will be shown at the same time on multiple feeds although there is the prospect of staggered kick-off times as well, particularly for the Boxing Day fixtures.
Amazon were thought to be particularly interested in the Boxing Day games as they believe they will be a great driver for Christmas sales of their Prime service.
Prime members who currently subscribe will automatically get the games as part of their existing service. Prime is available on a yearly or monthly subscription so fans who just want Prime for the Premier League matches could just subscribe in December and then cancel.
The matches Amazon have secured were part of two unsold packages of games which failed to meet the League's reserve price in February.
It's been confirmed BT Sport has taken the other package of 20 matches. This will include 15 games from two midweek rounds (again with the potential to show multiple games at the same time similar to their Champions League coverage) and five matches from the new 'split weekend' which is being created to allow a winter break.
This adds to the 32 games a season it has already secured for the Saturday 12.30pm slot in the original auction. It gives BT a total of 52 games a season, more than its ever had before.
Despite this latest announcement, Sky Sports remain the dominant player with more live Premier League games than anyone else and crucially week in, week out having the top picks.
It won the rights to 128 games a season in the original auction securing the key Sunday afternoon, Saturday tea-time, Monday and Friday night games as well as clinching the new Saturday 7.45pm fixtures.
Under the new arrangement, Match of the Day will continue to provide highlights on the BBC. Next season's live TV games from the Premier League will follow the same pattern as last season's with the new deal not coming into force until 2019-20.
