Every midweek Championship game set to be screened live by Sky

Sky Sports looks set to screen EVERY midweek Championship game live from this season via its interactive and online streams.

Sky have yet to release more details, but the EFL has confirmed that the broadcaster will be able to screen the extra midweek matches from the new season, a year earlier than originally announced.

It's all part of new arrangements which will see clubs be able to televise to UK and Ireland (via their official websites) any of their fixtures which are outside the 3pm Saturday blackout when no TV games can be aired. The exceptions are bank holiday and Easter fixtures. Websites won't be able to show games which Sky has already picked for its other regular slots like Friday nights, Saturday tea-times and some Sundays.

It's likely Sky will pick one main game from Tuesday and Wednesday night Championship fixture lists to show on its Sky Sports Football channel with the rest available through its interactive red button service and online streams.

The new season Championship fixture list shows the midweek rounds have now been split more evenly across Tuesday and Wednesday nights giving Sky the opportunity to show simultaneously up to six games each night.

The extra matches on the interactive service are unlikely to have the multi-camera production values of Sky's main offerings. They could be restricted for some matches to a four-camera set-up.

The extra matches will be available domestically for EFL fans via their clubs own subscription service. Most used the EFL's I-Follow service, although some clubs have their own arrangements.

With BT Sport again offering every Champions League match to their live subscribers - including double-header nights with 6pm and 8pm kick-off times - UK TV viewers will have the biggest choice ever of live games when the Champions League and Championship nights clash.
