Rising sports presenter Eilidh Barbour is to front Sky Sports' Scottish football coverage from next season.

Barbour, who's a familiar face on both BT Sport and the BBC, will host Sky's 30 live SPFL games next season as regular Scottish football host Hayley McQueen goes on maternity leave.

The new deal only covers next season when SPFL matches will be screened on both Sky and rivals BT Sport for the last time.

From the 2020-21 season, Sky take over as the exclusive Scottish Premiership rights holder screening 48 games a season and six play-off matches.

Although Barbour's deal currently covers next season, with almost a doubling of Sky's Scottish matches the season after there could be the prospect of both McQueen and Barbour hosting matches when the new SPFL TV agreement kicks in.

Although Barbour will no longer appear on BT Sport next season, she will continue to work on BBC Sport. She is part of the this summer's BBC team covering the Women's World Cup.
