Eleven Sports snatches live Serie A games from BT

New sports broadcaster Eleven Sports has clinched a deal to show exclusive live matches from the Italian Serie A  - just weeks after taking Spanish LaLiga games from Sky Sports.

BT Sport has been showing the Italian division for the past few seasons, but now Eleven Sports has announced its secured a three-year deal on top of its LaLiga rights.

The UK-based company has already set up sports channels around the world, but has confirmed it will launch two channels in the coming weeks to screen the Spanish and Italian games including Cristiano Ronaldo's debut season for Juventus.

Those two channels will be available online, but Eleven hopes to strike a carriage deal with the likes of Sky, BT and Virgin so its channels can be shown on their platforms too.

How much it will cost to subscribe to the new Eleven Sports service has yet to be confirmed, but the company has promised it will be flexible suggesting fans could have the option of subscribing month-by-month or longer-term.

Eleven Sports 1 will show football only with Eleven Sports 2 promising more football along with fight sports, esports and extreme sports. Eleven promises to announce further "top-tier" sports rights shortly.

Pop-up sports channels will appear to provide an overspill when there are more than two live matches showing at the same time. Every LaLiga and every Serie A game will be shown live.
